Professor, École Polytechnique de Montréal
Researcher, MHI
A researcher at the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) and a professor in electrical engineering at the École Polytechnique de Montréal since 2005, Frédéric Lesage specializes in the development of optical imaging techniques. Before coming to the MHI, he studied and held industry positions in the field of physics. His work covers the development of microscopic techniques to study the impact of vascular diseases and age on the brain as well as the detection and characterization of atherosclerosis using molecular imaging. He currently directs a laboratory of 15 people and receives funding from the NSERC, FQRNT, CIHR and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Québec.
He holds the Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Vascular Optical Imaging.
