Assistant professor, Program director, Department of anaesthesiology, Montreal Heart Institute, Université de Montréal
I am currently starting my 8th year as clinical assistant professor within the department of anaesthesiology at the Montreal Heart Institute. Graduated from Université de Montréal in medicine and anaesthesia, I did a one-year complementary training in minimally invasive cardiac anaesthesia at Aalst, Belgium (Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, Bal du Cœur scholarship). During this year under the supervision of Drs José Coddens (anaesthesiologist) and Hugo Vanermen (cardiac surgeon), I have participated to more than 300 minimally invasive procedures. Therefore, my filed of expertise is anaesthesia for tricuspid and mitral surgery through thorascopy, as well as for percutaneous aortic valvular replacements. Since I return, the department of surgery in collaboration with ours, developed one of the biggest programs of minimally invasive cardiac surgery in Canada. Moreover, since September 1st, 2014, I am the program director of the department of anaesthesiology at Université de Montréal. This program is counting 44 residents and more than 100 professors.
