The Coronary Care Unit (4 Centre) is a specialized medical care unit with 39 beds for all types of patients, including 5 beds reserved for elective arrhythmia cases.
Coronary Care Unit staff, which consist of 27 nurses, 10 patient care attendants, and 2 physicians, have been trained to treat a wide variety of pathologies, such as decompensated heart failure, unstable coronary disease, arrhythmia, complex valve disorders, and more. The unit also sees many patients before and after their electrophysiology and hemodynamics procedures.
Finally, the unit plays a training role for Université de Montréal and welcomes an average of 20 candidates for the profession of nursing every year.
