Researchers in this laboratory are interested in many questions related to neurovascular coupling and cardiovascular disease using microscopy and macroscopic imaging. We are mainly developing optical and acoustic imaging techniques to better understand the mechanisms that lead to cognitive decline because of vascular disease (biophotonic imaging, optical coherence tomography, MRI, intrinsic optical imaging) and the development of atherosclerosis (fluorescence molecular and photoacoustic imaging). The developed imaging platforms are also used for collaborative projects.
