Montreal Heart Institute sets the record straight

July 8, 2015

The Institute provides the highest level of medical service
to all patients — regardless of language

The Montreal Heart Institute, whose reputation goes well beyond our borders, wishes to reiterate that it provides state-of-the-art cardiology services to all patients, regardless of the language they speak.

The wording of some of the information posted on the Institute’s website until recently was misleading and implied that our services were not available in English. We understand that this error may have offended some people and we regret this. We have made the appropriate changes.

The Institute would like to point out that many of its professionals are fluent in another language, primarily English, but others as well. Many of the physicians that train at our Institute come from other countries and speak a host of different languages. In addition, we provide the services of interpreters for patients who cannot speak French or who have difficulty expressing themselves in French.

We wish to reassure the public that we provide cardiology services of the highest quality, delivered by competent and dedicated medical and multidisciplinary teams.

About the Montreal Heart Institute
Founded in 1954 by Dr. Paul David, the Montreal Heart Institute constantly aims for the highest standards of excellence in the cardiovascular field through its leadership in clinical and basic research, ultra-specialized care, professional training and prevention. It is affiliated with the Université de Montréal.
