After completing a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and a master’s degree in organic chemistry at Université de Montréal, Dr. Louise-Isabelle Rivard went to medical school and chose family medicine as her specialty.
After working for five years at the Hôpital de Saint-Eustache in emergency medicine and in-patient care, she joined the formidable emergency team at the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) in 2006. She also worked as part of the MHI palliative care team from 2006 to 2011.
She provides clinical education for externs and residents in family medicine and specialized emergency medicine. She was also an AP tutor for a course in Nephrology (MMD 2331) at Université de Montréal in 2012.
