The Short-Stay Unit has 32 beds, including 16 beds for short-term admissions and 16 for day admissions. This unit is open from Monday at 7:00 a.m. to Friday at 7:00 p.m. Unit staff provide any care and monitoring that is required before and after a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure. If a patient's hospital stay has to be extended, staff will organize a transfer to another unit.
The Short-Stay Unit is dedicated to patients who stay from a few hours to 48 hours and who mainly come from the hemodynamics and electrophysiology departments. This unit provides medical day services in hematology and radiology along with day surgery services and sees some patients prior to cardiac surgery. Depending on the type of procedure, a visit to our pre-admission clinic may be required.
