Computer-assisted Electrocardiography

This department is at the centre of activities at the MHI. Since resting ECGs are one of the first exams performed in cardiology care, this service is one of the first to be visited by our patients.

Our service is equipped with the latest technology available. Using information systems for tracing and archiving makes us one of the leaders in this field. Resting ECGs are in the process of being completely digitized, which makes the results accessible almost instantly on screen throughout the hospital. We are currently working on digitizing other tests such as Exercise ECGs and Holter monitoring.
Our team comprises medical electrophysiology technicians, ECG technicians and medical electrophysiology students. Most of our staff works in the daytime, Monday through Friday.

We offer the following services: resting and stress ECGs, ambulatory ECG monitoring (Holter), ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), event ECG recording and electroencephalographies (EEG). The staff also provides support for ultrasonographies under stress and pacemaker clinics.

We are also involved in the training of medical electrophysiology students from the Ahuntsic College.
