The Heart Transplant Clinic

The clinic offers a follow-up for patients and their families before, during and after heart transplantations. It is supported by a medical team under the direction of Dr. Guy Pelletier and Dr. Michel Carrier, and by the specialized clinics and case management coordinator, 4 clinician nurses and a secretary.

Our objective is to offer a personalized follow-up to any patient who has received or who is waiting for a transplant. We optimize our patients' health profile to help them achieve the best possible quality of life. The team strives for clinical stability through complex, strong pharmacological treatments and leading edge surgical treatments such as heart transplants, mechanical hearts and ventricular assistance devices.

The success of the Institute's transplant clinic is based on the interaction between the various partners of the interdisciplinary team, from the psychiatrist to the surgeon, the nurse to the cardiologist, the social worker to the dietician. The combination of their knowledge, expertise and commitment ensures that transplant patients receive the best of care.
