The MHI's Hospital Biobank - Researchers

Submitting a research project to the Biobank

All MHI researchers (i.e. active members of the Institute’s research staff who hold a hospital or university title) may have access to the cohort databank, provided that the Biobank management committee reviews and accepts each of their projects and that the MHI’s scientific and ethics committees approve their specific projects.

The hospital cohort (Biobank) management committee will evaluate each research project based on four major criteria;

1. The research project’s ultimate purpose is compatible with the normative framework applied to the Biobank.

2. The projected use of data and biological material respects the principle of personal dignity and does not lead to excessive demands being placed on subjects.

3. If the project concerns a request for distribution in a coded format, the researcher has agreed to inform the director of the Biobank of results (findings?) generated by his/her project that underscore a serious and predictable risk with significant implications for a person’s health.

4. The project is scientifically relevant.

To submit a project or obtain further information, please contact us at acces@icm-biobanque.org.
