Research is central to the MHI's
mission.
It is a font of new ideas, a constant source of
vigor and dynamism for the MHI.
The Institute's research interests range from
prevention and rehabilitation right through to
treatment.

A hundred scientists - more than 60
experienced researchers and 50 fellows - work at the Research
Center. They are divided into 19 teams working in basic research,
22 in clinical research and 10 in technological
research. In all, the Research Center has
a staff of over 200.
Researchers have access to two digital angiography
rooms and two sterile operating rooms.There are also facilities
for transgenic mice and multi-purpose equipment for biochemistry
and cellular and molecular biology.
Given the Institute's reputation in clinical and basic
research, it is often called upon to work in partnership with
private industry.
