Adult Congenital Heart Centre

The Adult Congenital Heart Centre is dedicated to the care and follow-up of adult congenital patients.

Under the direction of Dr. Lise-Andrée Mercier, a team of 7 adult congenital specialists and 1 cardiac surgeon work in collaboration with 1 pediatric cardiologist, 1 nurse clinician and a secretary.

The clinic follows approximately 2300 patients, with more than 1500 visits annually. More than half are referred from Hôpital Ste-Justine, the University of Montreal's paediatric teaching hospital. In addition, the Adult Congenital Heart Centre jointly monitors pregnant women with cardiac conditions in association with the high-risk obstetrical team of Hôpital Ste-Justine.

The nurse clinician plays a very active role at the Centre, by developping specific care and teaching programs et ensuring follow up of the adult congenital patients with the medical and interdisciplinary team.
