Partners in research

During 2002, the Montreal Heart Institute Research Fund (MHIRF) provided 8% of the Research Center's funding. During the same period, the Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec provided an average 4% of the Center's funding under its Research Center program and another 3% under its development program.

Other funding agencies met 34% of the Research Center's needs; these organizations include the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (USA), the Fondation des maladies du coeur du Québec, the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association. Finally, industry met about 51% of the Research Center's needs.
