The Montreal Heart Institute's Adult Congenital Heart Centre has been in operation since 1989. To date, some 2,000 patients are registered in our databank, which continues to grow at a rate of almost 20% per year.
More than 1,300 patients were seen at the Centre in 2004-2005 and close to 1,000 echocardiographic examinations were carried out during these visits, a level of activity that makes our Centre the largest congenital cardiology centre in Quebec and one of the largest in Canada.
